She was a mother figure to many and loved life and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She had a gift for making someone feel welcome and included. Her home was open to all. She didn’t mind sharing her opinion with you yet would unconditionally accept those with differing views. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Pat was one, even after having a stroke, to laugh at herself for not being able to remember anything, and comment “Oh Well”. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Benny Lamar Helton; her parents, Frank Kimsey Chastain and Judson Estell Chastain Autry; brother, Frank Anderson Chastain; and sister, Betty Chastain.
She is survived by her children, Kim (Jill) Helton, Jay (Susan) Helton and Tina (Billy) White, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Taylor (Hunter) Smoak and Andrew Helton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
