Paul (Steve) Smith, 66, of Apison, joined our lord Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Steve was a proud man of heart who never met a stranger and always wore a smile. He was an avid lover of wildlife, a skilled sportsman, Instructor for the TN Wildlife Resource Agency in Hunter Safety, lifetime member of the NRA and spent his leisure time enjoying the mountain streams of the Cherokee National Forest and beyond.
Steve began his professional career as an H.V.A.C. technician and later achieved multiple technical certifications in electrical, refrigeration and industrial maintenance throughout his career with Shaw Industries and Thomas & Betts.
Paul or “Stevie” was the youngest of 16 children born unto Jack Nye Smith & Edna Lee Burton Smith. . He was preceded in death by Sarah Tomlin, Mamie Jo Taylor, Francis Lowe, Jack Smith Jr., Barbara Swanson, Betty Spearman, Charles Smith, John D. Smith, James L. Smith, and Billy Smith.
Surviving siblings include, Pat Owen, Linda Taylor, Glinda Taylor, Wanda Rinehart, and Dorothy Ann Bailes. Steve’s greatest passion in life was his family, particularly his children, Lee Ann (Brian) Nash, Sonya Gale Smith, Stephen Arthur Smith, Autumn Starlyn Smith and Grady Austin Smith (Deceased).
His unwavering love, constant compassion and infinite pride will warm our hearts forever.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at the residence on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
