I knew Randy through work. He was a fantastic manager and mentor, and I reported to him for about a year. His leadership style was so refreshing - I will always remember his intelligence, skill, and empathy. Randy will be missed. My thoughts are with his family with hope for healing and peace.

Such devastating news of one so young..  Our  hearts go out to you and we pray that you will be comforted knowing that Jesus always walks beside you. To the Timmerman family, my name is Mark Poulin I was a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps and served under your son as his Operations Chief in the Fire Direction Center in the mid 90’s. He was a great and inspirational leader along with being an outstanding Marine Corps officer. It saddens me because I just found out early this morning not realizing he like me is here in Chattanooga. Trust me when I say the highest compliment one Marine can give to another is that I’d serve in combat with him anytime and anywhere. Though the years have gone by since those days I can still see him perfectly in my minds eye.. Realize all the outstanding qualities and traits he exhibited had to start with his upbringing. May God wrap his loving arms around you and your family. And to Lieutenant Timmerman I render a smart salute and Semper Fidelis. Guard the gates well sir.

There is really nothing that I can say to bring you any measurement of comfort or peace. But I am deeply sorry to hear about Randy's passing from his Earthly home. I will be praying that you and your children find a little comfort in knowing that one day you will see him again in Heaven.
