Ruby Lee Colvin Meacham

She moved to Chattanooga at an early age to be with her 2 brothers.

Grandma is well known for her dedicated work at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She assisted the physician with delivery of each of her son’s children as their grandparent.

After retiring from Erlanger, Grandma worked with children in daycare; she worked for Little Miss Mag and other daycares for many years. She also worked as a Foster Grandparent and at downtown Chattanooga First Presbyterian Church.

Grandma was on the Mother’s Board, sang in the choir, she served in the Nursing Guild, the Home Coming Committee and in other areas at her church, Antioch Primitive Baptist church. She gave the fellow members rides to church each Sunday, when needed. She also served in the adult choir for many years.

Grandma loved her church and family very deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elritt Meacham; and son, Elritt Meacham, Jr; great grandchild, Charleston Yorell; and great great grandchild, Nuri Iman Paris.

Survivors include granddaughters, Janet Meacham Paris Johnson and her husband, Nathaniel (Rickey) Johnson, Mary Dione Meacham Jackson and husband Tomorris Jackson; daughter-in-law Rosetta Meacham; 8 great grandchildren, Anthony Paris, Jr. (TJ) and his spouse, Tamara Paris, Natrina Patrice Johnson (Angel), Brandon Jamal and spouse, Ciara Meacham, Jay Meacham, Shawn Meacham, Canaa Mary’E Jackson, Elritt ‘Chuck’ Meacham, III and wife Randi and Tomorris Leon-Tres’Son Jackson; 8 great great grandchildren, Noah-Rae, Pooh-Pooh (Decoria), Fat Boy (Corey) and Braylen Johnson and Harmony, Eric, Brandi and Italy Meacham; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

A Visitation for Ruby will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services-Franklin-Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A second Visitation will follow on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church, 1107 N Hickory Street, Chattanooga, TN 37406.

Funeral Services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at Antioch Primitive Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
