He was a in the graduating class of 1966 of East Ridge High School. Spence loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandsons.
Spence is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Corbin James; mother, Billie Smith James; brother-in-law, Fred Lee Parrish; and nephew, Fred Lee Parrish Jr.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer (Gene Ingram) James; grandsons, Korbin Ensley and Elijah Massey; sisters, Diane Parrish and Sandi (Chris) Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
