

Terrell George “Terry” Jones passed from this life into the presence of his Savior on March 21, 2026, at the age of 69 in Greenville, South Carolina. He was residing in Cleveland, Tennessee at the time of his passing.
Terry was born on July 10, 1956, in Waycross, Georgia, to Henrietta (Davis) Jones and Walter Lawrence Jones. Shortly thereafter, he moved with his parents and brother, David, to Cottondale, Alabama, where he attended high school. It was there, at Cottondale Baptist Church, that he accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 14.
While attending college at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he met the love of his life, Julia Kaye Jones. They were married on December 18, 1976. Soon after, they welcomed their first child, Jason, followed by their second child, Miranda.
Terry was called to missions, and in April of 1984, he, along with his wife and children, moved to Costa Rica, where he faithfully served as a missionary for 22 years. After returning from the foreign field, he became the Central American Director for Baptist International Missions, Inc., a role he faithfully fulfilled until his passing. Terry and Kaye Jones served faithfully with BIMI for 45 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lawrence Jones; his mother, Henrietta Davis Jones; his brother, David Jones; and his beloved wife, Julia Kaye Jones.
He is survived by his son, Jason David (Emily) Jones; his daughter, Miranda Leigh (Steve) DeWitt; his granddaughters, Morgan (Chris) Lundell and Kaleigh DeWitt; and his grandsons, Micah Jones and Mason Jones.
Visitation will be held at Shenandoah Baptist Church, 138 Osment Rd SE, Cleveland, TN, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on March 30, 2026.
