Thomas a beloved husband, father, papaw, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026.
He was the son of Audie Bell Poe and was a lifelong example of hard work, generosity, and devotion to his family. He was married to the love of his life, Audrey Gail Williams Poe for 71 years. Together they built a beautiful life centered around their family and their faith.
He is survived by his wife Audrey Gail Williams Poe, his children Tammy (Mark) Teems, Dee Dee (Joe) Buckley and Tommy (Kim) Poe and his grandchildren Garrett (Meagan) Teems, Katelynn (Will) Fassnacht, Bonnie (Mitchell) Arnold, Joseph (AnaKaren) Buckley, Savannah (Collin) Lovell, Hayden (Lilly) Poe, Clay (Timber) Buckley, and Riley (Levi) Gunn as well as six great-grandchildren who brought him so much joy. He is survived by his brother Frankie Poe.
He was preceded in death by his mother Audie Bell Poe and his three brothers Harold, Leroy and Gene Poe
He attended Silverdale Baptist Church Apison Campus where his faith was an important part of his life.
Family was at the center of his world. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports and he rarely missed a game. Whether sitting in the stands, cheering from the sidelines or simply spending time with his family he treasured every moment with them.
He was a hardworking man who was always willing to give his time and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He never hesitated to show up for others and his generosity and kindness touched many lives.
He also loved talking football and enjoyed reminiscing about his days at Tyner High School. Those memories along with his love of family, sports and conversations will be cherished by all who knew him.
Above all, he was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. His family was his greatest pride and joy. His legacy of faith, hardworking, generosity, and love will live on.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
