Vivian Dodds, 87, passed away on October 23, 2026. She was born on September 26, 1939, in Lakewood, Ohio, and resided on the shores of Lake Erie for the first 20 years of her life—holding close a lasting love for the lake and its sunrises and sunsets. In later years, Vivian moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, after retiring from the Episcopal Diocese of NC, to be near her two daughters.
A devoted member of Grace Episcopal Church, Vivian served faithfully in many roles, including the Vestry, Parish Life, and as a Eucharistic Visitor. She also taught Sunday School and contributed her time and care through various committees. Among her most meaningful experiences was working with the youth at Grace, an expression of her steady commitment to community and the life of the church. Vivian was also an Associate of St. Mary's Convent in Sewanee, TN. She also volunteered at South Side Abbey for many years.
Vivian brought diligence and constancy to the relationships she valued. One of her passions was coordinating a yearly mini reunion for her Bay Village, Ohio high school class, and keeping classmates updated on one another’s lives. She was also an avid reader, and her library remains filled with many unread books she still hoped to enjoy.
Vivian is survived by her companion; David Stanislawski, daughter; Lauren Musselman (Charlie), son; Dean C. Hull (Candy), daughter; Heather Nelson (Allen), sister; Valorie Lephart, brother; Harry W. Dodds, sister; Vickie Urban (Bud), and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to share many thanks to her companion David Stanislawski. Because of his love, dedication and care Vivian was able to stay in the comfort of her own home where she was able to continue to entertain friends, host parties and enjoy family dinners.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Grace Church Endowment Fund, www. https://www.saygrace.net/give or to St. Mary's Convent in Sewanee, TN., https://www.communityofstmarysouth.org/support

Romans 8:38-39 KJV
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
