Wemer Dean Walker

08/12/1941-01/20/2024

Wemer Dean Walker peacefully passed away on January 20, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her parents Hoyt William Walker and Beatrice Walker and brothers George Dewey Walker and Roy Walker.  She is survived by cousins DeWayne, Frankie and LeBron.

     Ms. Wemer, who preferred to be called Ms. Wilma, attended Lookout Valley Junior High where she read every book in the school library.  She retained her love of literature as an adult and read and re-read every Louie Lamour book published. 

      A lifelong resident of St. Elmo she could often be seen sitting on her porch reading her bible and calling out “God bless you, I love you” to everyone who walked by. 

     Ms. Wilma could often be found in the back pew of Silverdale Baptist Church after walking to church.  She was a faithful servant and will be missed by her church, the Widows’ Harvest Group and her neighbors.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 11 at 12:30 PM at Silverdale St. Elmo Baptist Church. Immediately, following will be a commemorative walk to her little house, where a light lunch will be served, standing room only
