Wiley Lonnie Dicks

Wiley was a retired business owner and Salesman; and was self-employed with Checks, Inc for many years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe, also many church singles groups and a big brother with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, and the Sports Barn. Wiley LOVED sports, being an avid boxer, he also played baseball, softball, basketball, football, racketball, tennis, darts, horse shoes and volleyball. He LOVED all kinds of different music, attended MANY concerts and was an avid collector of albums. Wiley enjoyed having a simple life and never wanted more than he needed to get by.

He would always give anyone in need the shirt off his own back, even if it caused him to go without; he lived for friends and family. He enjoyed life to the fullest and taught everyone else to do the same. He was a good hearted man.

Wiley was preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie Mae Short; grandfather, Marion Lonnie Short; father, Ross Dicks, Sr.; mother, Frances Golden; guardians, Martha and John Short; brothers, Marron Haas and Ross Dicks, Jr.; uncle, Jerry Short; and nephew, Scott White.

Those Wiley leaves behind to cherish his memories include his loving daughter, Margaret Chevon Dicks Gregory; grandson, E.J. Hicks; brothers, Eugene Haas and Clifton Hicks; sisters, Teresa Dicks Locke and Linda Frood; uncle, Bill Short; nieces, Suzy Haas Swims, April Kilgore, Billie Jean Hunter, Leslie Short, Susan White Jones, Kris Statham, Sandi Haas Hulsey, Kelly Haas Shackleford and Tanya Stubs Camp; nephews, Jeffery Lonnie Haas, Ronnie Locke, Jr. and Jackie Locke; several other great nieces and great nephews, relatives and MANY lifetime friends considered family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Kyle Crowley’s Tennessee River Property, AKA ‘The Moon’; location provided through Chevon Gregory or Kyle Crowley. The date and time of service is still to be determined.
