William Frederick Buttram went to be with his Lord on February 21, 2021. Bill was a graduate of Hixson High School in 1967 and Bill served in the Navy from 1967 to 1971. He attended College at David Lipscomb and then at Middle Tennessee State University. Bill worked various jobs and started working with UPS in 1978 where he was a sorter and a loader until he retired.
Known as “Buster” or “Uncle Buster” to his family and many friends, he loved spending time with family and entertaining his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed camping, hiking, snow skiing, skating (roller and ice) and going to the beach with family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William F. Buttram and Blanche Best Buttram and Fredrick E. White and Bessie B. Lord White; parents, Clyde Howard Buttram and Nora Louise White Buttram; brother-in-law Bryan D. Gore and Nephews; Marcus R. Gore and Chris R. Gore.
He is survived by two brothers; Robert Andrew Buttram (Heather), David Bryan Buttram (Leslie) and one sister; Rebecca Louise Buttram Gore and many dearly loved cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews!
A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday April 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Chattanooga National Cemetery officiated by Rev. James B. Buttram, Jr. If you are attending, please meet at the Cemetery office at 10:45 am.
