Obituary of William  "Glenn" Craighead
William Glenn Craighead age 67 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Friday March 10, 2023 at Rhea Medical Center. He was born on January 8, 1956 to the late John and Eileen Craighead. Glenn was a graduate of Spring City High School. He spent many years as a truck driver hauling coal for Ted Gibbs Trucking Company later becoming an owner operator of his own fleet transporting freight for Murphy and Sons before finally retiring to his true love of cattle farming. He was better known to his many friends as Cowboy. Glenn enjoyed his time on a John Deer Tractor cutting and baling hay. One of Glenn’s favorite pastimes was spending the day at the Athens Stockyard on Tuesdays. Glenn is also preceded in death by his sister Virginia Herrell. Survivors include his wife Faye of almost 40 years; his sons Anthony (Miranda) Lancaster and Jason (Brandalyn) Lancaster; his siblings Charlotte Roberts, Gloria Roberts and David Craighead; his grandchildren Presley (Damien) Taylor, Macy (Christian) Simon, Lillie Lancaster and Ally Lancaster and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, 3 pm at Wolf Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1-3 pm at Wolf Creek Baptist Church.
