He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was an avid Nascar Race fan. You could find him every Sunday watching the races during race season.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Raymond Long; his sister, Susan Shipman Long; his beloved "grannie"; and his Aunt, Mary Helen.
William is survived by his wife, Kathy Long of Chattanooga; his son, Zachary Long of Miami, FL; his daughter, Mikayla Long of Chattanooga; and one granddaughter, Evvy Long, of Miami, FL.
He will be deeply missed by his two buddies, Barlowe and Sugar.
Services and a memorial will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
