

Elizabeth Ada Archer, age 95, passed away Tuesday Feb. 11, 2014 at Springfield Hospital. She was born in Orwell, VT July 19, 1918 the daughter of Stephen and Maria (Desjadon) Desjadon. She attended schools in Orwell. On Nov. 12, 1939 she married Stanley Archer. They lived in Orwell until 1965 when they moved to Chester. She worked at several jobs including Readex (NewsBank) for 31 1/2 years. She also cared for elderly people. Liz was a very happy lady and always had a smile.
She is survived by her daughter Agnes and husband Bud Barnes of Chester, Thomas and his wife Patti Archer of Hamilton, NJ. 8 Grandchildren, Susan Barnes, N. Springfield, Vicky Burke and her husband Todd of Wells, VT, Laurie and her husband Scott Rawson of Londonderry, Jeffrey Barnes of Westminster, VT, Valerie Jackman of Ludlow, Barbara Blake of Chester, Jessica Archer and Dominque O’Rouke of Hamilton, NJ. 8 Great Grandchildren, Cobley and Miles Curtis, Greg and Justin McAllister, Adam and Matthew Rawson, Christain Jackman and Keegan O’Rouke, 2 great great grandchildren, Cole and Annabella Rawson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Archer, a son, Harold “Brother” Archer and 4 brothers and 1sister. She loved her senior years and all her precious friends. She enjoyed her bus trips, concerts, suppers, bands and her dog Adie.
She was a member of Community Cares Network and the American Legion Auxiliary of Chester.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Feb. 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chester. Celebrant will be the Rev. Fr. James E. Zuccaro, Pastor. Graveside committal services and interment will take place at a later date in St. Genevieve Cemetery, Shoreham, Vt.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at the Adams Funeral Home, 35 Depot St. Chester.
