

Chester, VT - Mathilda (Sis) E. Bolger, 81, of Chester, Vermont, formerly of Stamford, CT, and
Point Pleasant, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on May 2, 2016.
She was the wife of the late Richard B. Bolger, Sr., and the mother of the late Richard B. Bolger,
Jr.
Born in Stamford, CT, on June 1, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Archibald D. and
Mathilda Poirier. She spent most of her life in New Jersey, moving to Vermont 12 years ago.
Mathilda loved sewing, crocheting, bingo, Celtic Thunder concerts and spending time with her
children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Bolger and Douglas Bolger, Douglas's wife, Celia Chen,
and their two children, Jane Chen and Maya Bolger-Chen, her daughter, Doreen Bolger, and her
three children, Michael Wilson, Stephanie Blauch, and Patrick Wilson, as well as Stepanie's
husband, David Blauch and their daughter, Emma. She is also survived by her sister, Martha
Canavari, and her niece, Valerie Lynam.
The viewing and funeral will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chester, Vermont on
Thursday, May 5, 2016. The viewing will begin at 4:00 P.M., with the funeral service following
at 5:00 P.M.
