Betty Louise Powell

Betty Louise Powell, age 80, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. She was born on March 14, 1946, in Gunnison, Colorado, the daughter of Romona Viola (Atenico) and Leo William Fernandez. Betty graduated from high school in 1964 and in 1967 she married Gerald F. Powell. She worked in housekeeping for Breckenridge Village, Senior Living, of Willoughby, Ohio. Betty enjoyed painting ceramics and had whole villages that she made for each holiday. She was also an avid reader.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-three years, Gerald. Survivors include her four sons, Richard Powell of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael (Becky) Powell of Chardon, Ohio, Steven (Jenni) Powell of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kenneth (Sara) Powell of Chesterland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jeanette, Samantha, Morgan, Sydney, Daniel, Itzamna, and Lily.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio, with Rev. Christopher Cox officiating. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 16th, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
