Brent R. Tarantino

Brent R. Tarantino, age 51, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Brent was born June 10, 1971 in Euclid, Ohio. He is survived by his parents Richard A. Tarantino (Jackie) and Nancy J. Odell (Gregory); loving children Jadyn, Rocco and Dominic; and brother Damon (Kelly) and niece Abby. Brent loved his family with all his heart.

Brent had a passion for sports that was more than casual. He enjoyed playing youth football and baseball and wrestling. Brent was an accomplished skate boarder at the very beginnings of the sport and gave exhibitions of his skill around Ohio. He collected baseball cards and knew more than just the pictures and numbers on the back. He knew the players and what made them great. He had an uncanny ability to remember dates of games and exceptional plays. Everyone knew his favorite teams were the Yankees, the Chargers and the Blue Devils. Brent loved spirited debates with his boys over which team or player was better.

This all led up to Brent’s real joy - that of watching his passion being exhibited by his children in sport and school. Brent loved coaching their softball, baseball and football teams. He gave them strong foundations that they have been able to use to become the athletes and students they are. He kept every medal, trophy, memento and uniform from their journey.

But Brent’s real love was just being with his children. He supported them with compassion, empathy and guidance with a smile and unwavering love. Brent was proud of each of them in their unique individual way. He relished time taking bike rides wherever the paths took them and getting a Starbucks or ice cream. They were truly his best friends.

Brent’s wit and sense of humor brightened any gathering. Anyone lucky enough to have Brent as a friend knows how much he will be missed.

A visitation for Brent will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland. A private interment at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon will occur.
