Carl William Bastel

Carl William Bastel, age 60, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Carl was born February 23, 1962 in Eastlake, Ohio to the late Charles and Luanne (nee Palinkas). Carl is the brother of the late Victoria Martin, Gretchen Hinkle (husband Greg), and Erich Bastel; uncle of Amanda Martin, Alyson Martin, Sara Hinkle, Andrea Welch (husband Joe), Carley Bastel, and Steven Bastel; great-uncle of Leigha; friend and former husband of Patty Bastel. Carl was proud to own and operate his painting company and has done so for over 20 years. In his free time, Carl liked snowmobiling and boating. He was a simple and old fashioned man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A visitation for Carl will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life will occur Friday, February 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Carl will be laid to rest at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carl’s honor may be made to alleviate funeral expenses.
