Born in Brimfield, Ohio on March 27, 1938, Tom was one of seven children born to Helen Maude (Overholt) and Joseph Thomas Ludick. At nineteen, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served honorably, deploying to Korea to assist in post-war rebuilding efforts. Following his graduation from Kent State University, he began a career in education as an Industrial Arts teacher and coach. It was during his time teaching at the A.G. Bell School for the Deaf in Cleveland that he met his wife, Patricia Ann Beilein.
Tom later transitioned into a career in engineering, working for the Parker Hannifin Corporation at its headquarters in Mayfield Heights until his retirement. He also maintained his passion for farming by working weekends at Patterson Fruit Farm, where he was well-known for driving tractors during apple season, gathering sap in the spring, and leading group hayrides.
Tom and Patricia raised five children: Katherine, Sarah (deceased), Elizabeth, Joseph, and Andrew. He was a proud grandfather of twelve, and a great-grandfather of two.
Tom will be remembered for his dedication to hard work, his kindness, and his exceptional woodworking talents. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend who will be missed by many.
Private burial was held in Riverview Cemetery in Russell Township. No public services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Reserve Hospice. Share a fond memory or condolence at www.gattozziandson.com.
