

Carol Ann Alesnik (neeTorowski) , age 82, died on Monday, August 31, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on December 13,1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Gertrude (Zgrabik) and Henry Torowski. Carol was a 1961 graduate of Holy Name High School of Cleveland. She married Louis Alesnik on February 9, 1963. As a young family, they resided in Twinsburg until the last of the children were grown. Faith was important to Carol, no matter where she lived. She was an active member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church in Twinsburg. She also resided in Eastlake, and Brunswick Hills, before spending the last six years in Streetsboro. After raising her family, Carol worked in the Human Resources office for Cleveland State University, retiring in 2005. Once retired, she began taking classes in the Encore 55+ Learning Program at Cuyahoga Community College- and enjoying many new experiences and friendships. Carol spent her free time, enjoying her flower garden, playing Mexican Train Dominoes, crocheting, walking her dog, and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for exercising and could be found working out with the Silver Sneakers (Which she always said was "too easy" for her).
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of forty-two years, Louis. Survivors include her three children, Terrence T. (Paula) Alesnik of Stow, Ohio, Annie (Edward) Bongiorno, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Timothy L. (Heidi) Alesnik of Chesterland, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Emma & her husband Lee, Abbey & her husband Kenny, Molly, Jacob, Julie, Louie, Olivia, and Nate; two great-grandchildren, Caroline, and Alden, with a third expected to arrive on great-grandma’s birthday; two brothers, Carl Torowski of Streetsboro, Ohio, and Thomas (Barbara) Torowski of Cleveland, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, Ohio, 44065. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5th from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Private burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
