Carol A. Hong, age 78, passed away on November 17th, 2020. Born on October 9, 1942, Carol was a resident of Chardon, Ohio for the past 40 years. She was born in Altoona, PA, but spent most of her childhood in Cuyahoga Falls. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and received an MBA from Cleveland State University. She was a proud Peace Corps volunteer but found her professional calling as a certified medical technologist. She excelled in her career, working for several hospitals in the Cleveland area and as the Administrator for Laboratory Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. She was also honored to serve as the President for the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Carol enjoyed her many memories of horseback riding and loved music. She played the clarinet and the piano, was a proud member of Mensa, and sang in the choir at Christ Presbyterian Church in Chesterland and for the Grateful Praise Choir. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Jong Hong; parents Jack and L. Frances Kleffman; and her sister M. Lynne Corbin. She is survived by her son Michael Ma (Stephanie); daughter Elizabeth Haggerty (Michael); and grandchildren Henk, Nate, Jack, and Emma. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday November 5th, 2022 at 11am at Christ Presbyterian Church, 12419 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio.
