Condolences to the Strazar & Troha families. ~ I met Cynthia when we were teens; she was the sister of a close highschool friend. I spent many hours at the Strazar house, & remember Cynthia so well. She was beautiful inside & out. Her loss is a shocking blow to many, whose only lasting comfort can come from the Lord who will reunite those of us who trust Him to our loved ones in Heaven, perhaps sooner than we think.

Here's to my mom, my best friend, my mentor, the best nana to my children, may you rest in peace until I see you again.  You were always there for me and always made time to call just to see how we were doing.  I'm going to miss those phone calls and silly emails.  I am heartbroken but will go on to raise my children the way I know you would approve of mom.  I love you.

An insider's view.  Shortly after the word went out about Mom, the roads & skies were full of Trohas.  Some came from the other side of world to be here and they were still showing up like clockwork last night.  Speaking as someone that did not grow up in this family, I am frankly astonished at the strength, grace and love that I have seen in the last few days.  From the way they welcomed me in years ago, I had expected them to react this way but it is still something to see in action.  In my opinion the real measure of a person comes from looking at their kids, and what kids Cynthia raised!  I have seen doctors, deans, teachers, carpenters, artists, liberals and conservatives sitting around the same table in the last few days and that's just naming a few.  The conversation has gone from sad and quite to laughing and raucous with children often running and laughing with joy in between.  It's this eclectic mix bound together in one family that brings the house to life when they are all together.  So if you are open to it, here is my advice.  I have come to learn two very important things from this group of Trohas and how they handled this terribly trying time.  Number one is that if you have a small family, grow it.  Number two is if you cannot grow your family in the traditional way; make it bigger by inviting some folks to into your hearts & home and then treating them like they were there all along.  Trust me, it has worked very very well for the Trohas...

To the Troha Family - 

I'm very sorry for you loss.  I got to know Cyndy working at St Ann's during my summer breaks.  I'm thankful to have met someone like Cyndy.  Will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh how my heart breaks at Cynth's sudden passing.  She loved you all SO very much, and was so proud of each and every one of you and your accomplishments. Your children, her grandchildren, were the light of her life. She was blessed by you, as I know she blessed you...she blessed me tremendously. I share your grief...the grief of losing a sibling is great, but is not the same as that of losing a parent.I wish I could take away your pain, but I can't. Feel it, work through it, and know that she has moved on to the Glorious new life that God prepared for His children...and we know she is one of them. I pray His perfect peace over all of you. 
When Dina passed, LF texted me John 15:27---"I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a GIFT the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid."--- that verse comforted me so much, and I pray it for all of you now. I also add verse 28 "...if you really love me you will be happy that I am going to the Father..." I know that this was spoken by Jesus, but I believe I hear your mom saying it as well. Be comforted that she was firm in her faith, and it is by faith alone that we are saved. So we know that we will see her again.
