Elizabeth “Betty” Evans, beloved wife and mother, passed away quietly on July 12th, 2020. Betty attended Kent State University, where she studied accounting and later worked for the Sun Newspapers as an accountant. She enjoyed several hobbies, but was most passionate about reading, rug hooking, and sewing baby clothes for the mission serving under privileged children throughout the Appalachian region. Betty’s artistic and passionate spirit will survive in the many hooked rugs that she left behind, and in our hearts. God speed mom, we love you! She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and daughter Joan (Arnel) Roby. Betty is survived by her sons Bill (Carmen), Chris (Debra); daughter Donna Kolson; grandchildren Leeland, Shane, Amanda Kolson, Jennifer (Tim) Covy and Stacy Kolson; and several great grandchildren. Friends may call at GATTOZZI AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 12524 Chillicothe Rd. (Route 306 N. of Mayfield Rd.) Our condolences to the entire family. We are very sorry for your loss.

We are grateful to have known Betty and have her as a kind and generous neighbor. She knew how much my dad liked her baking and for each annual apple cider gathering we had at our home, she would make 2 blueberry pies (his favorite) - one pie for the neighbors and one for my dad. She told him to keep it for himself - it was rough, but someone had to do it.

We send our best to all of you.
Sincerely, Chris & Maria

Betty and her husband Bob were good friends for years. We lost touch when my wife Barb (deceased) and I moved to Prospect Harbor, Maine following our retirement in 1991. In mid 1980. Betty re-caned two antique chairs that had been passed down from Barb's grandmother. Those chairs are still in use today and still look as good as new - a testament to Betty's caning skills. My sincere condolences to her family. Perhaps we will all meet again.

I enjoyed Betty showing me the beautiful braded rugs that she had made. What a talent she had.
So, Sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences.

I met Bob and Betty years ago at Celebration Church and was delighted to re-connect with her at St. Mark, Chesterland. She was one of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever known. I loved her and will miss her. I take comfort in knowing she is seeing, re-united
with Bob in Heaven.

There are no words to express our sympathies on the passing of your Mom and our dearest friend. Betty was such a giving and loving person...always there to be of help. We deeply treasure the wonderful memories of all the cruises we went on with her and Bob. Thank you for sharing her story in pictures. May God be with you as we share your sorrow. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Betty was very special to many people she was such an out going person. We got to know Betty because every now and then we drove her to church at St. Mark. She was spunky and I mean that in a good way.
