I lived around the corner from Maxim's from 1983-97. As a teacher at St. Joseph High School I walked past Maxim's and often stopped on the way home for a pizza bagel and their phenomenal chocolate
brownies. But the best part was the great conversations I had with Manny. What a great man and fond memories for me from that East 185th Street neighborhood.

Rest in Peace Manny!

Manny I moved on Cornwall when I was eight. We lived on your pizza and you were such a kind man. It was such a nice time, everyone knew everybody that came in and out in the little neighborhood corner store that also had the the best pizza ever. You will be remembered and missed by many . Thank you for the wonderful memories.🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏

I lived on Cornwall Road, born in 53 so of course maxims and Manny was a big part of my life. It was always a joy to go into the shop. I would stop almost every day on the way home from school, Oliver hazard Perry. I would love to smell the baked goods and always got a maple frosted roll. Manny was amazing and what a long wonderful life he had. He was a part of so many lives in a great old neighborhood. He made the area so special. RIP and thank you

Our family grew up on Maxims pizza. From my Grandpa Giuffre to the youngest Powell. There was, and still is, a warm smile when you walk through the door. Manny was always so full of energy and always took the time to make you feel special. The world is a better place for all of the lives he touched and fed. Sincere condolence to the entire family.
