

Gayle Elizabeth Royer, (née: Wiggins), age 80, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. Born on July 29, 1945, in Marsteller, Pennsylvania, to Pearle Ella (Hanwell) and James Paul Wiggins, moving to Cleveland at age 14.
Gayle was a graduate of Collinwood High School, and later earned an associate’s degree in commercial art from Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C). She was a talented artist, Girl Scout leader, PTA volunteer, worked for Beech Brook before she was married and later worked for several years at Grossman Music in Cleveland.
She was married to Thomas Leonard Royer for 59 years. She is survived by her husband; children Tommy (Jen) Royer, and Kelli (Michael) Guhde; grandchildren, Brittany (Aleyna) Royer, Red (Jeremy) Kadetsky, and Massimo (Maggie) Guhde; great-granddaughter, Josie Guhde; and her brother, Jack (Linda) Wiggins. Gayle is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Bob, Dick, and Bill.
In retirement, Gayle and Thomas lived in Oil City, Pennsylvania, and Fort Myers Beach, Florida, where she continued her artwork and enjoyed time with friends. She will be remembered for her creativity, warmth, and vibrant spirit.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from Noon until 2:00 PM at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio, 44026.
