

Harry Shepard, 95, of University Heights, passed away March 22, 2010, at Bedford Hospital. Born Aug. 3, 1914, in Bonne Terre, Mo., he had lived in University Heights for the past 43 years. Harry was a parishioner of Gesu Church in University Heights and former parishioner of St. Benedict's in Cleveland. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Knights of Columbus. Harry was an avid gardener and known as a terrific "Do-it-Yourselfer." He loved taking care of his home and automobiles. He was an accomplished golfer, violinist and accordion player. Harry and his wife, Emily enjoyed attending area Polka dances, as well as traveling to attend dances throughout the Midwest. Mr. Shepard had worked as a tool specialist for 35 years at National Acme before he retired in the late 1970s. Survivors are his children, Kathie Bonelli, Kris (Tom) Letizia, Kevin (Connie), and Keith (Amy); grandchildren, Lisa Tavolier, Scott, Kip, and Sara Krizman, Gina Cheff, Angelo Bonelli, Daniel, Jon, and Anna Shepard, Alex and Christian Letizia, and Ted, Andy, and Nick Shepard; great-grandchildren, Joey and Danielle Cheff, and Thomas and Cameron Krizman; and brother, Steve (Ceil) Shepard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily (nee Dolinsky); daughter, Karen Krizman; son, Kenneth; granddaughter, Kathryn Shepard; and sisters, Mary Rich and Cecelia Martin. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DiCicco & Sons Funeral Home, 5975 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights. Funeral services, will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 496 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls. (Please meet at the church.) The Rev. David Walkowiak will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland.
