Isabelle, I have known you nearly my entire life. My heart is filled with memories of you. Your home was my second home; you were my other Mom. Your generosity of spirit extended to everyone, your home always had an open door. We all, always, felt welcome there. Yet more than that. Comfort. Accepted. Wanted. Since small children, we were wrapped in your warmth.
You were unfailingly kind. You were brutally honest. You were generous with anything you had, including your time, talent, wisdom and advice.
Even when we had grown, married, and raised families of our own, your warm welcome remained constant. I returned again and again for your wisdom, your company, your easy laugh and quick wit.
I have missed the wealth of having you across the street.
Sharing a cup of tea.
Sitting on the steps on a Summer night talking.
Playing word puzzles.
Telling jokes.
The old days of working at the Hall.
Spaghetti dinners.
The cat eating the cake.
Knowing you were there.
I have valued so many things about you, your fierceness as a mother, your unwillingness to break, your basic goodness, however, my greatest treasure from you has been your love.
It always shone straight through.
Isabelle Ramona, you have been one of the greatest gifts of my life, and I will never stop missing you.

my favorite memory of my Aunt Isabel is when I was a young little girl she allow me to sit next to her by her easel and show me how to paint flowers, vases and skies with real oil paint! I loved watching her paint. Every brush stroke was so thoughtfully placed. She made me feel so special. I'd like to think that if it wasn't for her I would not be the artist or teacher. I love you Auntie Isabel and I'll miss you very much.
