John Michael Dragan

John "Butch" Michael Dragan, age 89, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on June 3, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Rose (Hornyak) and Michael Dragan. John graduated from Benedictine High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Cleveland State University. He served in the United States Coast Guard after college and later spent most of his career working for American Greetings. John was a long-time resident of Chesterland, Ohio, and was actively involved with the schools, community, and Saint Anselm Church. He was a loving husband to Louise for 60 years and a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. John loved spending time with his family and supported them in all their activities. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Chagrin River Fishing Club. John also enjoyed hiking, gardening, traveling with Louise, and attending sporting events. John was an avid fan of the Browns, Indians, Cavaliers, and Buckeyes. He is survived by his daughters, Lynn (Bill) Gallagher, Nancy (Chuck) Daniels; grandchildren, Brendan, Sean (Essence), Kaitlyn (Will), Brooke (Gavin), and Chase; great-grandchildren, Brody, Elouise, and Vivienne; and sister, Barbara Jane Dragan. John was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; his son, Bob; his great-grandson, Brendan Jr.; sister, Patricia Bosway; and parents, Rose and Michael Dragan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Saint Anselm Catholic Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio. A private burial will be held at Chester Township Cemetery. Visitation along with a Celebration Luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 21st, from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12525 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio.
