Joseph Martin Freno

Mr. Freno passed away Jan. 23, 2013, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.

Born March 17, 1927, in Gipsy, Pa., he had been a 40-year resident of Chester Township.

Joseph was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Saint Anselm in Chester Township, and was an outdoor enthusiast, often enjoying fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Mr. Freno retired from G.E. after 24 years of service.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Ann (nee Roy); daughter, Connie White of Chester Township; sons, Christopher (Gloria) of Chardon and Joseph Michael of Chester Township; grandchildren, Cari Anne (Christopher DiOrio) Freno, Christina Freno, Katie Freno and David Freno; and sister, Maryann Nemergut.

He was preceded in death by seven sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
