Joseph John Lanckiewicz

Chardon, Ohio – Joseph John Lanckiewicz, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. He was born on November 2, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Stella (Chetnicki) and Anthony Lanckiewicz. Joe was a 1953 graduate of South High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He served several years in the United States Army Reserves as well as in the Army. While serving, he was stationed for four months in Greenland, recalling how the sun never set and was light, all day and night. On April 28, 1962, he married Barbara Ann Pikovsky. Joe worked for Conway Railroad as a welder, retiring after forty-two years. He then worked for TABCO Company of Chesterland, Ohio, for twelve years, until it relocated. Joe could fix about anything, and enjoyed refurbishing trains for his train collection. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Stella and Carol; three brothers, Lewis, Stanley, and Anthony. Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years; and his niece, Sharon McColan of N. Royalton, Ohio.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 5:00 pm at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio. Visitation will follow the service until 7:00 PM. Private burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Organization of choice.
