Born Oct. 16, 1925, in Youngstown, she had lived in Euclid for the past 50 years.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Collinwood, graduated from Collinwood High School, and was a member of Collinwood Memories. Along with her husband Danny, Julia was very active with the American Legion, Collinwood Post 759, V.F.W. Euclid Post 1056, and the Euclid Veterans Association. Julia also enjoyed volunteering at several area hospitals.
Survivors are her husband, Dante; brothers, Bennett and James DeRose; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Patalino; and parents, Helen (Young) and Joseph DeRose.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at DiCicco and Sons Funeral Home, 5975 Mayfield Road (at Lander Road), Mayfield Heights.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Church, 15712 Kipling Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110. The Rev. Marty Polito will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Julia's name may be made to Holy Redeemer Church (at the address above).
Arrangements are being handled by Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home in Chester Township.
