Kim, as she liked to be called, was born on August 7, 1956, in Painesville, Ohio to Robert and Patricia (Leach) Stahre. As a child she lived in Euclid, Mentor and Chesterland. Kim was a graduate of West Geauga High School Class of 1974. In October 1974 she met her future husband, Douglas. On September 24,1976 they were married and made their home in Munson Township.
After graduation, Kim worked at her uncle‘s gift card shop and she became a bank teller at Society National Bank. After she had her three children, she was an office manager at Dr. Lee’s medical office as a receptionist. She then worked at Snip Clip and Polish in Chesterland. Her most beloved job was raising her three children and looking after her grandchildren.
In her spare time, Kim was always baking for her family and extended family. She was always someone who wanted to help others. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and baking with them as well. She enjoyed time with all the people she loved. Nothing made her happier than being with family, friends, and grandchildren.
Kim is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, Douglas, also daughter, Amanda Riedel, Sarah (John) Swearman and Michael (Lauren) Riedel. She also leaves behind her two cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Chase Riedel. She is also survived by her brother Dale (Patty) Stahre and sister Linda Waller and extended family of sister and brother in-laws; Karen (Rick) Leyde and Craig (Mai) Riedel. She leaves an impact on all her nieces and nephews and their children. She became a second mom to dozens throughout the years. Kim is also remembered by her best friend of 54 years, Susan Lashley.
Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2023. She battled for over two years with a smile on her face and very little complaints. Throughout this battle, she never gave up and fought until the end. She will be forever a warrior. Mom’s treatment for breast cancer was done though UH Seidman and the care was exceptional. The doctors and nurses were so wonderful, and they cared for her like she was family. Due to her immense respect for her care team, we ask that donations in her name should be given to UH Seidman Cancer Center at www.uhgiving.org, and click on "Make a Gift".
