Larry Bubnow

Larry Bubnow, age 74, passed away peacefully July 12, 2026, at Metzenbaum group home in Munson Township, surrounded by his family and loving caregivers. Born on March 20, 1952, in Ravenna, Ohio he was the loving son of the late Peter and Alexandria Bubnow, his brother Boris (wife Linnea), cousins Mary Linger, Victor Bubnow, Laura Dingledein, and Alice Smith, and other relatives. He was a long-term resident at the Metzenbaum residences and is dearly loved by all who welcomed his happy demeanor and humor. Larry viewed the world through "happy eyes" and saw the good in everything and everybody.

In his early years, Larry attended Happy Day care centers in Kent, Ohio where he earned the worker of the year award. At the Metzenbaum residences he made many friends and was on the Special Olympics bowling team. Larry enjoyed being with friends, dining out, listening to music, fishing and visiting his cousin Victor in Florida.

A small informal service will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland. Light refreshments provided after service. Private Interment will be at a later date at Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to A Better Choice SLS, Inc., 13860 Ravenna Rd., Newbury, OH 44065.
