Leda V. Wojtowicz

Leda Wojtowicz (Vertuca) died in the morning of September 7th 2024 at the young age of 95. Born 1/10/29 in the hills of Fleming Kentucky, the youngest of 11 children to Italian immigrants Vincent and Mary Vertuca. Leda’s mother died soon after she was born and she was raised by her sisters and brothers while their Dad worked at his store in Neon. She spent most of her young life in Kentucky and it was in Lexington where she met her husband Joseph, a young engineering student from Ohio. They were married and after the Korean War, with one child in tow, they moved back to Ohio, starting first in Warren, Cleveland Heights and eventually Newbury. They went on to have 6 children of their own. After the children were grown, Leda went back to work at the Great Lakes Cheese Factory where she enjoyed many long lasting friendships. Leda’s life though revolved around her children, her church and her baking. She was a strong woman in life and will be received joyfully in heaven by her husband and all her family, as she was the last remaining sibling to be called to God's banquet. She is survived by her children Timothy (Linda) Wojtowicz, Donna Wojtowicz, Jeffery Wojtowicz, Lisa (David) Gragg, Susan (Glenn) Frohring, and Dr. Jennifer (Dr. Robert) Wojtowicz/Kent, 16 grandchildren. Brian(Jen)Wojtowicz, Lindsey (Chris) Wojtowicz, Heather Wojtowicz, Chris (Erin) Gragg, Julię Gragg, Joseph (Bailey)Gragg, Michael (Kristen)Gragg, Angela (Shane) Frohring, Caitlyn (Keith) Olson, Kaylee Frohring, Erika Frohring, Samantha Frohring, Trę Kent, Elizabeth Kent, Katherine Kent and Sarah Kent and 8 great grandchildren Jeremiah, Zachariah, Avi Wojtowicz and Caden, Alaina, Lucas, Noah and Lincoln Gragg She will be greatly missed and Fondly remembered by all who loved her. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd., Newbury, OH 44065. Interment at Munn Cemetery in Newbury. In lieu flowers memorial donations in Leda's name may be made to Saint Helen Catholic Church, (address above).
