Richard Orlan Dickson
July 27, 1946 – October 8, 2021
Dr. Richard Orlan Dickson (July 27, 1946 - October 8, 2021) left his earthly family after his long battle with serious medical issues. A hero to the end, Rich stayed strong facing the challenges with a smile, always trying to comfort and put his family first. No matter what the challenge or request, Rich was always determined to go above and beyond exceeding the expectations for not only himself but all he loved.
After serving 3 years with Distinction as a Senior Airman in Vietnam his love of flying was ignited, and he later went on to become a licensed pilot. After leaving the military Rich found his true calling as a Chiropractic Physician. His ability to help people both physically and emotionally helped him become an extraordinary doctor and form many longtime friendships. So many were blessed to learn valuable lessons from him, even if it was not in the form of fashion tips. Rich was lovingly known for his own unique style! From his assortment of custom ties to his truly amazingly colorful Hawaiian shirts; he knew how to stand above the crowd. oh... and the sweaters! So. Many. Sweaters....
He leaves behind a large and loving family that he was so very proud of. His best friend and soulmate of 39 years Pegi Dickson. His children, Misty Leanne Morris, Brian Richard Orlan Dickson, Elisabeth Megan Dickson, Alexander Foster Joseph Dickson, Phillip Cody Dickson, Tonia Clark, Jared Dickson, Katherine Peterson, Aaron Dickson, and Damon Dickson. Papa will be missed by his many, many grandchildren.
Whether you called him Rich, Dad, Papa, “Dr Richard O. Dickson”, or just a friend, you will deeply feel the loss in your heart of this wonderful man. As the days go by, his memory will live on through all of us and the things he loved. Especially his spirit of adventure -driving 2 hours for ice cream or scuba diving in Mexico. Whether we are walking the dogs, carving the pumpkins, decorating the house for Christmas, enjoying Thanksgiving, we know he will be with us. He is finally at rest and we will keep him close within our hearts forever. As you gaze up at the stars, find the brightest one, and remember for every end there is a new beginning.
Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service at 1 pm on Saturday November 13, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 8751 Kirtland Road, Kirtland, Ohio.
