Chesterland, Ohio – Robert Lynn “Bob” McLain, age 79, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. He was born on May 19, 1946, in Cumberland, Maryland. Bob graduated from High School in 1964 while living in Oklahoma. Right after high school he joined and served the United States Navy from 1964 through 1968, having the good fortune to be stationed in Hawaii. Landing in Kent, Ohio, Bob worked shortly for Goodyear before becoming part of the team at Rockwell Automation in Twinsburg, Ohio, where he was employed for over 20 years.
Bob met Lynn (D’Angelo) and together over the past twenty-five years they travel by motorcycle, seeing vast parts of the states, including riding the Tail of the Dragon along US 129 in Tennessee. He was a muscle car enthusiast, and attended many car shows with his favorite Mustang the "Bullitt". Spending time in his garage tinkering is where you would find him most of the time. Bob was also a big animal lover and in lieu of flowers we would like any contributions made to the Rescue Village Animal Shelter, 15463 Chillicothe Road, Novelty, OH, 44072, or www.geaugahumane.org.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Lynn McLain of Chesterland, Ohio; two daughters, Tracey McLain, and Kelley (Brad) McLain-Ullman; two stepdaughters, Veronica Lehmann and Danielle (Chuck) Spryn; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Hali, Ava, Dustin, Natalie, Sophia, and Riley.
