Robert William Thompson Jr., age 63, of Chesterland, Ohio passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Martha Jean (Zivador) and Robert William Thompson, Sr.
Bob began his life with his wife and soulmate Carrie Libertine in 1982 and have been inseparable ever since. He had a creative soul and through his technical trade of brick laying, he owned his own mason business. Bob not only laid bricks, but would find ways to sculpt and make statues out of concrete. He incorporated making jewelry out of metal and nails, always having his hands busy. He would often be out with his brother scanning the ground looking for items with his metal detector and enjoyed transforming his home with sculptures and firepits with pockets for flowers. Bob had a deep love for his family and friends. He lit up the room with his sense of humor and was the life of every place he went.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Mary and Vincent Zivador; his In-laws, Joan and Ronald Libertine; and his sister-in-law, Virginia Libertine. Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Carrie of Chesterland, Ohio; his brother, Michael V. Thompson of Wickliffe, Ohio; his aunt, Debbie (Bernie) Rietze; three sister-in-laws, Susan Sweigert, Sandra Libertine, Georgette Aspero; four nieces, Aimee, Renee, Melissa, Danielle; two nephews, Ron (Shannon) and Tommy; and six great nieces and nephews.
