

He was born March 1, 1928, in Cleveland, OH, and lived in Euclid for many years before moving to Chardon, where he resided for 20 years before relocating to Aurora in 2017.
Rudy was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and longtime tool maker with Ford Motor Company’s Cleveland Engine Plant No. 1. He was also a member of SNPJ (Slovene National Benefit Society), staying connected to his Slovenian heritage and enjoying fellowship and community. Outside of work, Rudy was active in the St. Francis Bowling League, where he excelled as a bowler while forming many friendships and sharing countless laughs. He enjoyed traveling, often taking trips with his late brother Joe and the St. Anselm Young of Heart group.
Rudy’s family includes his nephews Joe, deceased (Anne) Kastelic and Ken (Connie) Kastelic; nieces Laura (Brian) Frazier and Jane (Didier) Meyer; and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Kastelic, and brother Joe (Anne) Kastelic.
Family and friends may call at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, on Friday, September 12, from 6 – 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at St. Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland. Interment All Souls Cemetery.
