Sophia Stanicki

She was born May 19, 1926, in Superior, Pa.

Sophia was a member of the P.L.A.V. Post 31 Ladies Auxiliary, and a longtime parishioner of Sts. Robert and William Church in Euclid. Sophia was a loving and devoted homemaker and grandmother, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-granddaughter.

Survivors are her sons, James (Lori) and Jeff (Debbie); grandchildren, James, Jr. (Jen), Stephanie (Tony) Buzecan, Kevin, Lyssi and Tiffani (T.J.) McManamon; sisters, Helen Podbielski and Juliana Workman (Smolinski); and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John P.; sister, Mary Skvarca; and brother, Anthony Mach.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.

Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. (Please meet at the church.) Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
