He was born July 11, 1950, in East Cleveland, and had lived in Wickliffe before moving to Chardon.
Thom was a very positive person and inspired everyone to do their best. He was passionate about his family, work, hobbies and sports. Thom especially loved baseball. He passionately managed and played for the Cleveland Crushers in the Roy Hobbs Association.
Thom was in real estate for 18 years and was employed by Keller Williams Greater Cleveland.
Survivors are his wife, Karen; daughters, Erin Michel, and Kelly and Kristy Morris; grandson, Zachary; mother, Joanne Michel; and brother, Robert Michel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; and brother, James Michel.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Services will be 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
