William Frank Waldman

William Frank Waldman, 92, passed away on February 15th. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Alma Waldman. They had been residents of Geauga County since 1965. He is survived by their four children Christine, Michele, Allen & Elaine as well as 6 grandchildren & 7 great grand children. William was born in Bradley, Ohio and was the oldest of 4 boys. He moved to Cleveland after finishing high school and enlisted in the Marine Corp shortly thereafter. He served as a platoon leader in the 3rd Battalion, 28th Marines, 5th Marine Division and was trained as a flamethrower. He received the Purple Heart after being wounded in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Until the later years of his life, he was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and gardener. He found pride and joy in his family and everything he did. At his request, there will be a family only service.

My sincerest condolences to the family. I may not have known Mr. Waldman personally, but I know he was loved so dearly and was such an honorable man from listening to the stories from Michele.
