She married handsome Army Veteran, Joseph Suchecki, on September 27, 1953 and spent the next 10 years travelling the United States and Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, Cuba and Haiti. They belonged to the Jack and Jill Club in Chicago, where they loved square dancing and Joseph recorded his first square dance calling album. Their only daughter, Carol (Fedor), shared their love for travel, gardening and hard work and dedication. Alice then resided independently in Streamwood, IL for nearly 20 years and continuously stayed active with family and in community service throughout retirement. Her grandchildren, Johnny and Kristen Kelker, shared memories of playing at the Roselle house and riding bikes to the Streamwood house, shopping trips, eating ice cream, making bacon and eggs for breakfast, planting flowers, trimming bushes and going to see the newest Harry Potter movies. Alice spent most of her career spanning nearly 30 years at Sears Roebuck & Company in Chicago (Harlem & North Store and Sears Tower). In addition to her full-time job and family, her life was dedicated to service of others. Our hearts are with you during this difficult time, I remember so many years that Alice attended our Christmas Bunco Event at Carol's house. Alice always was smiling and having such a great time snacking on all the treasures we brought to share.
