

April 1st. Our Beloved Angeline Ali (née DeCastro) passed away comfortably at home surrounded by those she loved dearly. She is survived by her daughter Alison Ali, granddaughters Angela, Mari and Fati, sisters Rosemary Dacanay and Catherine DeCastro and nephew Jason Dacanay. She was the loving Godmother to Elizabeth Mayoski- Wachal , Aunt to Alicia (Rhodes) Underwood (John Underwood), cousin to many families of DeCastro, Sison , Alvarado, Braganza , Bito and Rivera from California and aunt to many and adored by all who came in her presence. She was born on July 1, 1933 to the late Albert DeCastro and late Helen Krupinski DeCastro. She is preceded in death by her husband Wazid Ali, parents Albert and Helen DeCastro, and grandparents Joseph and Angeline Krupinski. Angeline was a former teacher for the Chicago Board of Education where she taught for over 31 years, including the gifted program at Lincoln Park H.S. in Political Science, Social Studies, and American History. She enjoyed teaching and taking groups on trips around the world. She belonged to many organizations and served as President to the United Pangasinan Club, was a member of FACC, Filipino Lioness, Catholic Filipino American Guild and a member of the Chicago Board of Education Retired Teachers. She graduated from DePaul University with a Masters Degree. She was also a devoted Catholic who taught Religious Education at St. Pascal as well as being a Eucharistic Minister. She made an impact on all those who met her with her loving and caring being. Her smile lit up the room and her calm, serene personality made her loved by all who met her. She was extremely strong and fought to stay healthy for her family, she was a definite rock to her daughter and grandchildren. Due to current safety measures, there will be a private wake and funeral on Thursday, April 9th at Malec Funeral Home followed by private ceremony at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Service will be live streamed on the Malec & Sons Facebook page.
