Apolinar O. Pacheco, of Chicago, 82, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on August 27, 2020 after a battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Carmencita Mendoza Pacheco whom he married on January 14, 1967 in Quezon City, Philippines; adoring father to Joselito "Joel" M. Pacheco (Diana), Jean "Jinky" Antonette Carino, Jennifer M. Pacheco, cherished grandfather to Julian Victor Pacheco (son of Diana and Joel), Xavier Joel Pacheco (son of Diana and Joel), Jordan Mikel Carino (son of Jinky), loving brother of the late Rosario "Chayoung", the late Eliza, the late Felipe, the late Antonio, Rosa, the late Lourdes, the late Remigio, the late Teresita "Tess" and Josefina "Penny". He is preceded in death by his parents Bonifacia and Thomas Pacheco. He graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. He was involved in several Catholic organizations. He was a devoted husband, loving father and attentive grandfather. He was also a very hard worker and dedicated provider for his family. He was extremely religious and a spiritual leader for the family. He was wise in his advice and guidance. In lieu of flowers charitable donations may be made to The American Lung Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Visitation will be held at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, Chicago, on September 1, 2020 at 10am, The Divine Mercy Chaplet Prayer will begin at 10:30am and Funeral Mass will begin at 11am. In consideration of the safety of all our guests and associates, we ask that guests adhere to the current gathering restrictions in the state of Illinois, which allows 50 or fewer guests at services.
