Arlene Celia Sroka

November 21, 1947 – October 9, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Arlene Celia Sroka (née Koczwara) on October 9, 2026. Arlene was a gentle soul who never sought the spotlight, choosing instead to live a quiet and humble life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John Sroka; her daughter, Audra Shatat (née Sroka), and Ken Nishibayashi; and her granddaughters, Ceila Arlene Shatat, Sara Elizabeth Shatat, Kira Nishibayashi, and Kyla Nishibayashi. Arlene is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Koczwara (née Popielarz); her father, William Koczwara; and her brother, Robert Koczwara.

Arlene was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a woman whose strength and selflessness were reflected in the life she led. As the primary breadwinner for her family, she worked tirelessly to provide for those she loved while remaining steadfast in her devotion to her family. She dedicated her life to her husband and their marriage of more than 60 years.

Arlene began working at United Insurance Company at the age of 18 and worked her way into management, completing more than 30 years of service. Her career reflected the same quiet determination and strong work ethic that defined so much of her life.

Her faith and personal relationship with God gave her strength and helped her navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. Though she lived humbly and never sought recognition, the love she shared and the sacrifices she made will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
