Asteria Glimane Bhandari

Asteria Glimane Bhandari, RN, age 73, passed away January 17, 2015. She was the dutiful daughter to Alejandro and Presentacion Glimane. Asteria, a beloved and dedicated wife is survived by her husband of 47 years, Avatar Bhandari. She is the loving mother to daughters Angelina Bhandari,MD (husband of Vijay Pallekonda,MD), Asha Bhandari,RN (husband Paul Moreno, JD) Amy Bhandari,MBBS, Aileen Bhandari, Assistant State’s Attorney (husband Sam Davis, Jr, Businessman), sons, Umesh Bhandari, MD (wife Holly Kinget, MD), Sunil Bhandari. Dedicated and amazing grandmother to Anand, Viraj and Chandrika Pallekonda; Amara and Vincente Moreno; Christopher, Basant, Maya and Shaan Davis; Saniya Bhandari. She is a generous Aunt and loyal friend to many. Asteria was the Humanitarian to her native Philippines serving as Mayor of San Benito. Aster, as she was known, had a magnetic smile, a zest for life, and a heart of gold. Her hobbies was to cook for everyone, dance and help others. Life Celebration of Asteria Bhandari will be held on January 24 at 3 pm at Malec & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11am-6pm with a Novena at 7pm. Sunday, January 25 is the Pooja and Havan at 9:00 am at Hari Om Mandir Temple, 6 North 20 Medinah Road, Medinah, Il. Sunday, January 25 Visitation/Wake 3pm to 9pm at Malec & Sons Funeral Home. Monday, January 26, 10am Mass at Our Lady of Victory Church, 5212 W. Agatite, Chicago, IL.
