Barbara Ann Benedix, 74, of Chicago, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Rainbow Ark Hospice in Park Ridge, IL. Mrs. Benedix was born on June 5, 1939 in Fayeteville, Arkansas, the daughter of Quentin Kendall and Florence Bates. She is survived by her sons, Ken (Jo Ann) and Kirk (Annette) Benedix; grandchildren, Ellie, Danny, Kyle, Keith the III, and Kenny Jr.; and one brother, Jim Kendall. Mrs. Benedix is also preceded in death by her husband, Keith (Skip) Benedix and son, Keith Benedix. Mrs. Benedix enjoyed traveling, family, gardening, baking, and education. She acquired a Master's degree in education as a reading specialist and worked as a math teacher. Visitation for Mrs. Benedix will he held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Malec & Sons Funeral Home in Chicago, IL from 4-9 PM.
