Barbara Kimbrough, age 89, of Chicago, Illinois, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Harold (Lefty) and the late Grace Gottstein and the beloved sister to the late Jerry Sr. (the late Jackie) Gottstein, the late Marlene (the late Sonny) Ayers, the late Don (the late Lois) Gottstein, the late Eddy (Judy) Gottstein, the late Connie (Pete) Belluomini, and Nancy (the late Rocky) Griffin.
Barbara was a devoted wife to the late Floyd Kimbrough, with whom she shared 26 beautiful years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Patty (Ralph)Eorio, Steve (Fred) Kimbrough, Brian Kimbrough, and Ron Kimbrough. Her heart was full of pride for her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Mike Eorio, Nicole and Kevin O'Connor, Emily and Mario Mitchell, Eric Kimbrough and Kaylee, as well as her devoted great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ellie, Emmett, Sonny, Perla, Milla, and (Bruno)
As a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, a devoted godmother to numerous godchildren, and a dear friend to all, Barbara's warmth, kindness, and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone she knew. She was like a second mother to many, offering unconditional love and guidance to her godchildren as if they were her own.
Barbara was a dedicated stay-at-home mom who valued family above all else, and she took great pride in caring for her loved ones. Eventually, Barbara worked at Burger King, and later in childcare, where the children affectionately called her "Grandma Burger King." Her warm and nurturing nature left an enduring impression on those around her, especially the children she cared for over the years.
In her free time, Barbara enjoyed watching movies and listening to music, finding joy in the classics. Her top four favorite artists were Frank Sinatra, Nora Jones, Elvis Presley, and Eva Cassidy, whose music brought her comfort and happiness throughout her life.
Barbara’s passing leaves a gentle emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to live on through the many cherished memories she shared with family and friends. She will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
