Betty Yates

Following a battle with cancer, Betty Yates went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2020, at the age of 89 years. She was a devoted wife to the late Lloyd Yates, and loving mother to Robert (Jane) and Theresa. She will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren: Michael (Milena), Christopher (Michaela), Cody (Michelle), Cassidy (Dan), Caitlin and Jennifer. Within the last 3 years, she became a caring great grandmother to Alexander, Cheyenne and Carter. Betty was born in Kentucky on June 11, 1931, and moved a few times throughout her life. She resided in Chicago for many years, and then moved to the suburbs later in life. She attended Levitt Street Bible Church until its closing, and then attended River Grove Bible Church until her health hindered her. Betty enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, and listening to country music. She was known for being compassionate and a great conversationalist. Betty leaves behind one sister, Goldie (Bob), and eight half-siblings: Rachael, Dorris, Helen, Cindy, Amy, Polly, Jessie and Steve. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Ruby, Mary Annalee, Susan, Louise, and one half-sister, Alice.

A visitation - in accordance with government covid-19 restrictions for Betty will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A burial will occur Monday, September 21, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Alderwoods (Chicago Central), Inc DBA Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 North Narragansett Ave, Chicago, Illinois 60634. A final viewing - in accordance with government covid-19 restrictions will occur Monday, September 21, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A celebration of life - in accordance with government covid-19 restrictions will occur Monday, September 21, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6901 West Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. A committal & interment service - in accordance with government covid-19 restrictions will occur Monday, September 21, 2020 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 North Narragansett Ave, Chicago, IL 60634.

Though down in Evansville, Indiana we did not know Betty personally. We have been in continued prayers for her and the family over the past few months.
