Dear Iwonka with Husband,
Our sincere condolences to you upon your Mom's passing away. Your Mom, Bronislawa Liebelt (Chrusciel), was really special: a person with great heart, sensitive to other people's needs and helping others. She wore her heart on the sleeve. Her own difficult and challenging childhood during World War II and Siberian exile, made her appreciate every day and every moment.
As a Treasurer for many years in Zwiazek Sybirakow (Siberian Society an organization of Polish survivors from Siberia) she was very dedicated and energetic and found joy in little things that she brought to others. She expanded her function to many different areas as she looked after many, older fellow survivors. Thanks to her hard work, energy and enthusiasm, the organization thrived. She also had much courage and was not afraid to stand up for what was right.
As a niece of Polish general Chrusciel, she was proud of her Polish roots and was very patriotic. She was very dedicated to your dad, and you and loved you very much as you and he were a light of her life. She loved sports and her and your winter skiing escapades brought her much joy. Your parents left you, your young daughter, Nina and your family a very important family legacy to remember, to treasure and to nurture. They were exceptional people. You can be proud of both of them.
I will always appreciate your Mom's friendship, honesty, and the positive impact she left on my life. Bronia's life's journey has ended and as I say good bye to her, I conclude this with an excerpt from the Syberian March that we used to sing: A mysmy szli i szli zdziesiatkowani, przez tajge, stepy platanina drog. A mysmy szli i szli niepokonani . Az Wolna Polske raczyl wrocic Bog. Czesc Jej Pamieci! May She rest in peace!
Teresa and Stanislaw Bochnik with sons George and Robert.
